The School of Prison Law was originally founded in 1998 and operated for 20 years as The Institute of Prison Law.

As a result of legislative changes the name ‘Institute’ was designated as a sensitive name that refers to primarily research organisations only and, as a result, from 2018 going forward it was rebranded as the School of Prison Law.

As always it exists in order to further the professional knowledge and the practice of prison law.

We do this by providing CPD training that is authorised by the Solicitors Regulation Authority and delivered to our clients by a team of experts who are renowned in their field.
